Support a young person through an ongoing one-on-one or group mentoring program. I Am MENtality Youth Male Empowerment Project empowers youth in the community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential.
Spend time mentoring youth, including facilitating activities and demonstrating creative skills, in Living Classrooms’ Ascend through Music program. Volunteers are also needed to assist with activities and provide support. Living Classrooms provides access to more equitable education, workforce development, health and wellness, and community opportunities, enabling individuals to achieve their goals and build safer, stronger, healthier communities.
Mentor a student at Crossroads School, including providing guidance and a listening ear. This program is geared towards professionals working at companies near the Crossroads School (Fells Point/Harbor East neighborhoods). Living Classrooms provides access to more equitable education, workforce development, health and wellness, and community opportunities, enabling individuals to achieve their goals and build safer, stronger, healthier communities.
Connect with fellow moms in your neighborhood and share meaningful moments while making a difference in Baltimore. Join this VolunTeam for a variety of service projects that let you socialize with purpose and contribute to your community.
Assemble projects at home or at work (hygiene kits, fleece blankets, baby hats, and others) for ShareBaby clients. ShareBaby collects diapers, clothing, and other basic goods and distributes these items to families in need through community-based organizations.
Assist with unloading and delivering food to area seniors experiencing food insecurity. Community Crisis Center, Inc. provides emergency food and toiletries to families, adults, and children in the Reisterstown area.
Sort, organize, and pack clothing donations, baby gear, and other items for families at DRUMondawmin (DRUM) Healthy Families, Inc. DRUM Healthy Families, Inc. is a home visiting program for pregnant & postnatal women and their children residing in East and West Baltimore.
Help pack food and/or distribute food to families at Elmer A. Henderson: A Johns Hopkins Partnership School, in partnership with the Maryland Food Bank. Tasks include:
• Packing Food (9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.)
• Distributing Food (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
Assist with warehouse tasks, including organizing inventory, packaging items (like toothpaste, stuffed animals, etc.), assembling boxes, and more at Bedtime in a Box. Bedtime in a Box supports the health and educational development of children ages 0-5 in Baltimore City by providing families with materials for comprehensive bedtime routines.
Pack meals for Meals on Wheels clients who are unable leave their home. Meals on Wheels enables people to live independently in their homes by providing food and other needed services.
Assist clients with food shopping according to household, family size, and other factors at the Community Assistance Network pantry. Community Assistance Network provides supplementary food and other resources to eligible Baltimore County residents.
