Prepare food, pack meals, clean up, and help in the kitchen at Moveable Feast. Moveable Feast provides home-delivered meals for those experiencing food insecurity and living with a serious illness.
Help with kitchen operations (cleaning, leading groups, etc) and dinner meal service at Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” for seriously ill children and their families.
Join the Macks Jewish Connection Network Knitting VolunTeam as we knit or crochet for a cause! Help create handmade scarves and hats to be donated to vulnerable populations during our annual Mitzvah Month this December. The VolunTeam meets in person monthly in a private, residential building (registrants will be sent address).
Knit and/or crochet hats and scarves to help keep our community warm! Scarves should be 7″x50″ and hats 22″x8.25″. ALL items should be gender neutral in color. The Macks Jewish Connection Network collects hand-knit scarves and hats year-round to be donated to vulnerable members of our community on our Mitzvah Month.
Help take care of the farm and land at Pearlstone Center. Tasks include weeding, caring for trails, working on the farm, and more. Pearlstone retreat center, farm, and programs enable and inspire vibrant Jewish life. The grounds include an educational farm featuring crops and an animal pasture.
Assist and oversee daily operations in the new library at the Center for Women & Children at Helping Up Mission. Tasks include checking out and returning books, shelving books, and more. Helping Up Mission is a 24/7 shelter in Baltimore City for men, women, and children experiencing addiction, homelessness, or poverty.
Tutor an adult with an intellectual disability, who is currently reading at a kindergarten-1st grade level. Jewish Community Services (JCS) provides counseling, employment assistance, older adult services and more in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Tutor students to build literacy and reading comprehension skills. Reading Partners is a national nonprofit that pairs community volunteers and elementary school students who are reading below grade level in Baltimore City.
Help prepare, serve, and clean up meals (breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner) for the women and children at My Sister’s Place Women’s Center. My Sister’s Place Women’s Center is a day resource center for women and children in Baltimore City experiencing poverty and homelessness.
Help serve food (lunch and/or dinner), wash dishes, prepare food, clean dining area (including sweeping, mopping, wiping down tables), and other meal-service related tasks at Helping Up Mission. Helping Up Mission is a 24/7 shelter in Baltimore City for men, women, and children experiencing addiction, homelessness, or poverty.
Commit to providing food for one designated meal service (breakfast, lunch, or dinner) at My Sister’s Place Women’s Center. My Sister’s Place Women’s Center is a day resource center for women and children in Baltimore City experiencing poverty and homelessness. Volunteers have the option to serve the meal and eat with clients after.
Purchase and assemble to go meal kits for families residing at Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” for seriously ill children and their families.
