Together, We Are The Change

we are the change

A Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration of Unity, Justice, and Art

Children aged 7-12 are welcome with a trusted adult to participate in this experience that will explore the themes of Amanda Gorman*’s poetry and Loren Long’s artwork in the lyrical picture book, Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem. They will create interpretative artwork that encourages them to think about unity, justice and making a difference – big and small in the world, our community and most importantly, themselves. All families will receive a copy of the book, Change Sings.

The program will be facilitated by our Jews of Color Community Connector, Sean Johnson, and art experience will be led by Julie Wohl.

Together, let’s honor Dr. King’s teachings and contribute to a better community. Together, We Are The Change for a brighter tomorrow!

*Amanda Gorman is an American poet, activist, and model. Her work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race and marginalization. Gorman was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate.

We welcome participants of all abilities. If you need any special accommodations, please let us know in the form below.
