Bookworms at Bedford Elementary

Volunteers read 1-2 books to a first grade and/or second grade classroom during the school day. We ask for volunteers to bring a new or gently used book to read and donate to the class for students to continue to enjoy.

Commitment

Once/month (sessions occur during the same day/time each month)

Restrictions

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) requires volunteers to complete a brief volunteer training that is available online at BCPS Volunteers – Division of Chief of Staff. The training is required to be renewed each school year. Volunteers must print and bring their BCPS Volunteer Application and Certificate of completion of volunteer training to the school office before volunteering. This can be done on the first day you volunteer. Volunteers will also be asked to have their driver’s license scanned the first time coming into BCPS buildings for security reasons.
